Products / Services Summary

Spindles
Turned staircase components such as spindles, newel posts and newel caps are a large part of our business. We offer a wide range of designs, from traditional to contemporary and we can even help you design your own creation. We can also supply hand and base rails for your staircase.

Newel Posts
A newel, also called a central pole, is the central supporting pillar of a spiral staircase. It can also (usually as “newel post”) refer to an upright post that supports the handrail of a stair banister. In stairs having straight flights it is the principal post at the foot of the staircase, but it can also be used for the intermediate posts on landings and at the top of a staircase. We have an extensive range to choose from, classic to contemporary,we can even design your newel post to match your spindles.

Finials
Finials is an architectural device, typically carved and employed decoratively to emphasize the apex of a gable or any of various distinctive ornaments at the top, end, or corner of a building or structure. Smaller finials can be also be used as a decorative ornament on the ends of curtain rods or applied to chairs and furniture. Finials can be the finishing touch to that special job, whether it is for a house gable, curtain polls, staircase or garden fence.

Chair & Table Legs
This is a large part of our business producing high volume for the furniture trade as well as bespoke items for interior designers. We have a large stock of samples for you to choose from or you can design your own creation for us to turn. We also have a wide range of samples for table leg designs for you to choose from, farmhouse, refectory and coffee table legs, no matter what your tastes, be it traditional or contemporary.

Porch & Architectural Columns
First impressions are so important so getting your porch columns right is a must. We are able to produce anything up to an impressive 2.4m long and 300mm in diameter, making this a good load bearing structure.

Kitchen Pilasters
We work for a large number of Kitchen Designers producing bespoke items to help make that kitchen look extra special.

Door Knobs
Our extensive range of wooden knobs can be made from any wood, oak, walnut, cherry or beech to name just a few. If you cannot find the right knob for your door then why not design your own. Give us a call to discuss your options.

Barley Twists
A barley twist is a common British and American furniture turning. This generally takes a single or double twist format and is very distinctive. It lends itself well to any straight or slightly tapered section of a spindle turning. Barley Twist can be carried out in a left or right hand pitch and is suitable for a broad range of items such as kitchen pilasters, staircases, porch and architectural columns to name but a few.

Rope Twists
As you would expect from the name Rope Twist should look similar to a rope design this can also be a left or right hand twist which can be used on a variety of items.

Reeding & Fluting
Reeding and Fluting can give a whole new dimension to a turned piece.

Square Turning
For something a little bit different why not have a look at our square turnings. Many intricate shapes and designs can be made by this specialized method of woodturning. This is a very specialised method of turning service that we are able to provide.

Hand Carving
I started my career in hand carving and like to keep this dying traditional going. I can hand-carve a variety of designs and motifs. I carve architecturally on wooden turned pieces and furniture also letter carving for name plaques etc. I have been wood carving since the age of 18 and studied under a local well know wood carver, carving across a very broad range of subjects, ball and claw legs and carved columns as illustrated in photo .
