Products / Services Summary

About The Mumford & Wood Conservation™ Range
Our Conservation™ timber windows and timber doors appeal to both the aesthetic and functional requirements of architects, planning authorities, preservation societies and end-users alike. These products, including our timber sash windows, use the best of traditional features with a choice of deep moulded profiles, advanced timber section design and timber material.
The Conservation™ range is manufactured with factory fitted double glazing and three coats of white paint as standard. Conservation™ products are hand crafted and go through a series of sanding processes to achieve their traditional look. The resulting timber windows and doors offer the impressive performance of a high-end modern window or door, but with the unique traditional aesthetic that Mumford & Wood has become renowned for.

Box Sash Windows
The modern day version of the classic Box Sash Window otherwise known as the double hung sliding sash. Our timber Box Sash Window uses cords, weights and pulleys to counter balance the sashes in the traditional way with the weights housed in a ‘box’ created by the internal and external liners over sailing the frame on each side. Typically our Box Sash Windows would be set back in a ‘rebated reveal’ construction so that the box is mostly hidden by the external brick or stone although it can also be seen positioned close to the face of the brickwork with the box on show and dressed with an architrave. Our Box Sash Windows are equipped with our patented click fit staff and parting bead which allows the sliding sashes to be easily removed for future maintenance and decoration.

Spring Sash Windows
The spring sash window is a modern day alternative of the classic box sash window. It uses a spring loaded mechanism instead of the cords, weights and pulleys found in a traditional sash window, this has the advantage of allowing for a smaller rebate.
As part of the Conservation™ range our Spring Sash Windows offer a choice of frame profiles and glazing bars, along with a variety of double glass unit depths and specification to ensure that your aesthetic, thermal and acoustic requirements are achieved.

Casement Windows
Our flush faced timber Casement Window provides outstanding performance with a range of styles. Our Conservation™ Casement Windows can be tailored to suit a multitude of styles from small pane Georgian, leaded Arts and Craft to minimalistic Contemporary. As part of the Conservation™ range our timber Casement Windows offer a choice of frame profiles and glazing bars, along with a variety of double glass unit depths and specification to ensure that your aesthetic, thermal and acoustic requirements are achieved.
