Finnjoist FP+ is a factory-pre-insulated I-joist designed to help timber frame manufacturers build faster, work more efficiently, and meet key fire and acoustic performance requirements. It combines the proven structural performance of Finnjoist with insulation applied directly to the web during manufacture, delivering a ready-to-process solution for modern timber frame construction.
A smarter way to manufacture
By moving insulation application into the factory, Finnjoist FP+ eliminates the need to store insulation separately and to measure, cut and fit it during production. This results in fewer process steps, less handling and a cleaner, more consistent manufacturing flow. Full-length joists are supplied ready for customers to cut and process to their required dimensions.
Built for performance
Finnjoist FP+ meets and exceeds the 30-minute REI fire rating and is included in the Structural Timber Association (STA) updated ‘Design guide to separating distances during construction’, Product Paper 4 (PP4)’. Finnjoist FP+ is the only solution approved by the STA that allows I-joists below 58mm wide to meet the PP4 requirements, meaning standard Finnjoist layouts can be retained without the need for costly redesign and joist upgrades. It also delivers 43dB acoustic performance on intermediate floors without additional insulation between the joists exceeding the 40dB standard for England and Wales and meeting Scotland’s 43dB requirement.
