Ecological Building Systems, a leading supplier of sustainable building materials, will be at the Structural Timber Awards Conference on 7th October at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, showcasing the EcoCocon straw wall system alongside a range of complementary natural insulation and airtightness solutions.
The Ecological Building Systems technical team will be exhibiting EcoCocon, a unique straw wall system made from 98% natural renewable materials, offering Passive House-level thermal performance while significantly reducing embodied carbon.
The EcoCocon straw wall system has been shortlisted for this year’s Structural Timber Award in the Product/System Innovation Award category, recognising its innovative approach to sustainable, low-carbon construction.
Visitors will be able to see the EcoCocon system up close, displayed as part of a complete wall build-up incorporating Gutex wood fibre insulation and Pro Clima airtightness membranes and tapes.
The display will demonstrate how the different components work together as a complete system, combining the structural and insulating properties of the EcoCocon straw timber panels with Gutex wood fibre insulation and Pro Clima membranes and tapes to support thermal performance, airtightness and effective moisture management.
