Egger Group has expanded its wood recycling operations in Italy through the acquisition of Milan-based recycling company Lenocart Srl. The deal strengthens Egger’s access to recycled timber and supports the ongoing growth of its international recycling collection network under the Egger Timberpak brand.
A long-standing business partner of Egger, Lenocart brings an established recycling facility in Milan and a transport fleet that will support collection and logistics operations. The acquisition is part of Egger’s wider strategy to increase the availability of recycled wood for panel production.
Giuseppe Conti, plant director at Egger’s Caorso facility and head of wood purchasing, said:“The acquisition of Lenocart is an important step in strengthening our recycling network in Italy.”
He added:“The Milan region offers significant potential for the collection of recycled wood. Together with the experienced Lenocart team, we aim to further develop the business and contribute to a more circular use of resources.”
The Lenocart facility currently processes around 10,000 tonnes of recycled wood annually and will help supply raw material to Egger’s Caorso plant, where particleboard is manufactured from 100% recycled wood. Operational management of the site will remain with Dario Lenoci, whose family established the business in the 1950s.
Through its Timberpak network, Egger collects, sorts and processes recycled timber from regional sources before it is transported to manufacturing plants for final processing, supporting a more circular approach to resource use.
