Mumford & Wood, the Tiptree-based manufacturer of high-quality timber windows and doors, is having a year to remember in 2024. The company has won three industry awards in the past year and is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Mumford & Wood will be exhibiting at the 30th anniversary London Homebuilding & Renovating Show from September 27-29 at ExCeL London (stand F161).
Last year the company won Timber Company of the Year at the National Fenestration Awards – one of the most prestigious accolades within the timber woodworking industry. Now in their 10th year, these awards celebrate companies and individuals across the UK and organisations are nominated, shortlisted and awarded by public vote.
The company has also won two awards from BUILD magazine, including Best High-Quality Timber Windows & Door Manufacturer 2024 (in the Home Builder category) and Best Premium Timber Windows and Doors Supplier 2024 (in the Construction and Engineering Awards).
After achieving Carbon Neutral status in 2022, the company achieved Carbon Neutral + status this year, awarded when an organisation has calculated its greenhouse gas emissions and offset all emissions plus an extra 10% on top.
Mumford & Wood has already pledged to plant a native tree for every completed project in addition to working to aid deforestation projects overseas. Steps have also been taken to reduce the factory’s carbon footprint by introducing solar panels, recycling schemes, and hybrid and electric vehicles.
