The EGGER Group has appointed Andrew Tait as its new Commercial Director for its Western Europe Division, to succeed Bob Livesey when he retires in spring 2021 after a 37-year career at EGGER.
Andrew joined the company in August 2020 and will be responsible for the ongoing commercial development of EGGER’s Decorative and Building Panels business in the Western European market, through its strong offering of wood-based products for the furniture, building and construction industries. He will continue to support and champion EGGER’s positive business culture and well-established reputation across the region.
Andrew has more than 30 years of professional sales and commercial experience; he has also worked in procurement, supplier selection and central coordination of wood-based materials for the building industry. Andrew brings with him a deep understanding of the relevant sectors in the UK, French, Iberian and Irish markets.
Previously Sales and Commercial Director UK & Ireland for building solutions group Etex, Andrew also held the post of Purchasing and Marketing Director (Construction) at Saint Gobain Building Distribution (group based in Paris), and spent eight years at Jewson.
This new appointment comes ahead of Bob Livesey’s (current Commercial Director for Western Europe Division) retirement in spring 2021.
Bob has spent a significant part of his working life with the EGGER Group, joining in 1983 as Import Sales and Marketing Manager. Over the last 37 years, he has played a pivotal role in driving the transformation of a small import business into a market leading domestic producer in the UK. Latterly also holding the commercial responsibilities of our South West European markets.
Bob has led and supported EGGER’s dedicated commercial teams in achieving the successful growth of EGGER’s customer base through the development of long lasting, loyal relationships of which he is ‘extremely proud’.
Andrew Tait said, “I am delighted to have joined the senior management team at the EGGER Group. I have been working closely with Bob since joining to ensure a smooth transition. I see my role to develop further the successful long-term strategy that has been established under his long and very successful leadership. I look forward to working closely with the passionate and professional team at EGGER, to continue the development of the business.”
