The Structural Timber Association (STA) has released the latest update to the STA Volume 1 Pattern Book: Structural Timber Buildings Fire Safety in Use, which offers insights into the performance of various structural timber elements.
This publication, peer-reviewed by experts at BRE Global, highlights the fire resistance performance of several timber frame wall and engineered timber floor constructions commonly used in the UK.
STA Strengthens Volume Pattern Book with Latest Update
By simplifying the process for designers, manufacturers, and regulators to demonstrate compliance, the STA provides clear and concise instructions on which component parts within each construction element can be modified.
The most recent update to the STA Volume 1 Pattern Book introduces two new wall elements, minor clarifications to existing wall and floor elements and generic roof spandrel elements. It also includes various improvements aimed at making the document more user-friendly. Since its initial publication in 2020, the STA and its members have consistently invested in enhancing the content of the Pattern Book, which remains one of the most frequently downloaded resources from the association’s website.
