Timber specialist upgrades new site with HUBTEX multidirectional forklifts

A long-established timber specialist near Paris has equipped its new site in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine with multidirectional forklift trucks from HUBTEX. The electric sideloaders handle timber packs up to 13 metres long and several tonnes in weight, moving them safely and efficiently through narrow aisles and high racking. Thanks to their high load capacity and excellent manoeuvrability, the trucks help to optimise storage space and significantly improve warehouse logistics.

The family-owned business, founded in the mid-19th century, supplies joiners, interior fit-out contractors, landscapers and other wood professionals. With 180 employees and eleven locations, the company needed to make the most of every square metre when it opened its newest site in 2020. The key challenge: storing and transporting very long timber loads in confined spaces, while maintaining safety and fast turnaround times.

Three trucks for demanding timber operations

At the new site, three HUBTEX multidirectional forklift trucks are now in operation: two MQ 50s and one MAXX 45. In total, twelve HUBTEX trucks are in use across the group’s locations.

The MQ 50 multidirectional forklift trucks have a load capacity of 3.8 tonnes and are designed to handle long, heavy loads reliably and efficiently. With a lifting height of up to 8.5 metres and patented 360° HX steering, they offer outstanding manoeuvrability and ensure that every storage position can be reached precisely. Integrated camera systems support safe handling when storing and retrieving timber at height in narrow aisles.

The MAXX 45 has a load capacity of 4.5 tonnes and a lifting height of up to 7.5 metres, making it ideal for even heavier loads. Multidirectional steering allows the truck to move lengthwise, crosswise and diagonally, while a camera display on the HIT (HUBTEX Information Terminal) multifunction screen further enhances operating comfort and safety.

Reliability, service and long-term partnership

Over two decades of cooperation, the timber specialist has come to rely on the robust design of the HUBTEX trucks, the availability of after-sales support and rapid response in service situations. This dependable partnership has been a key factor in equipping the new site and in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

By using HUBTEX multidirectional trucks, the timber specialist can organise its storage logistics more efficiently and meet the high demands of its customers. The solution allows the company to:

  • make optimum use of available space in narrow aisles
  • handle long and heavy timber loads safely and quickly
  • load and unload lorries with minimal manoeuvring effort

For timber merchants and wood processors facing similar challenges with long loads and tight yards, the project demonstrates how specialised multidirectional forklift trucks can unlock extra capacity, improve safety and increase overall efficiency in day-to-day operations.
