Vandecasteele Press Releases

Vandecasteele Houtimport receives the Voka Charter Sustainable Entrepreneurship for the 20th time in a row!

During an online presentation, 33 West Flemish companies received the coveted annual certificate, the embodiment of a nice recognition that these companies have integrated sustainable business into their DNA. “The fact that our laureates continued to commit themselves to making their business processes more sustainable, even in these unusual times, should not go unnoticed,” says Bert Mons, managing director of Voka West Flanders.

With the arrival of the Green Deal, in which the current European Commission resolutely opts for CO2 neutrality by 2050, the pressure to become carbon neutral is increasing. Every social player will have to contribute to drastically reducing their ecological footprint.

Special circumstances – exceptional celebration

In 2021, 33 companies have stood out that have shown extra resilience and have achieved exceptional results in the field of sustainable business even in a disruptive corona year. “The laureates realize that sustainable entrepreneurship is a win-win situation, not only for themselves, but also for society.

The Charter has evolved over the years from the Environmental Charter, over the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Charter (2008) to the Voka Sustainable Entrepreneurship Charter (2018) with the integration of the 17 United Nations Sustainability Goals.

This year, Vandecasteele Houtimport achieves the Charter for the 20th time in a row which makes Vandecasteele one of the few laureates who participated for 20 consecutive years and successfully completed the trajectory.
