Clark Engineering has expanded its machinery portfolio by adding Palms and has already completed its first build at the company’s Dumfries site.
The build features a Palms 12U trailer with a 17,000kg gross weight and incorporates equipment from several of Clark Engineering’s existing brands, including Cranab and Tamtron.
Richard Gordon, general manager at Clark Engineering, said: “Palms is a good fit for Clark Engineering because it adds a well-proven forestry trailer range to the work we already do with tractor, crane, grapple, weighing and control system builds.”
The first Palms trailer supplied by the company has been equipped with a Cranab EC8 crane offering a 9.4m reach, together with a Cranab CR26 grapple, Indexator GV6 rotator and Tamtron One weighing system.
The build has also been specified with a brash container, hydraulic chassis extension, steering drawbar, air brakes, BKT tyres, central greasing system, LED light package, Parker L90 valve and Parker IQAN control system.
“Our customers are usually looking for a complete setup that has been thought through properly, with the trailer, crane, grapple, weighing system and controls all working together,” Richard added. “This first build is a good example of that approach.
“It brings together a Palms trailer, Cranab crane, Indexator rotator, Tamtron weighing system and Parker controls in a specification that has been built around how the trailer will actually be used.
