Ridgeons to build £100,000 timber storage facility at Newmarket branch

Ridgeons is building a new £100,000 timber storage facility at its branch in Newmarket, Suffolk, making it the only timber and builders’ merchants in the area to offer a display house containing treated carcassing.

Construction work will begin in April and the new storage facility is expected to open in the summer.

Karli Millard, branch manager, said: “We are making this investment as a result of feedback from our customers. As an independent, customer-focused timber and builders’ merchant, we respond to the changing requirements in the local market. We look forward to introducing both existing and new customers to the new timber facility in a few months’ time.”

The branch is also improving its bathroom and kitchen showroom, with the addition of premium brand Masterclass Kitchens alongside other products from Milano and Symphony and an extended landscape and gardening range will be launching in April.

To celebrate, a range of activities will be held for customers between Monday 26th February and Friday 2nd March, including special deals, a raffle to win a Fein Multi-Talent Tool, a Guess the Weight of the Easter Egg competition and free hot cross buns.

Alongside these changes, the branch continues to support local community projects, including a recent BBC DIY SOS project in Mildenhall, donations of gardening materials to Houldsworth Valley Primary School and to donations of building materials to local radio station Zack FM for the construction of its new studio.
